This beautiful stone is a mix of Serpentine and Stichtite found in Tasmania, Australia, the name has been trademarked and although used widely to describe these two minerals when found growing together, should only rightly be used to describe the combo when mined from Stichtite Hill, Dundas mineral field, Zeehan District.

It was first discovered in 1910 by Gerald Pauley, who gave it the name, the lore around it, is that it resonated with the magic of the fabled Atlanta for him.


There are also other areas of the world the two minerals grow together, one being South Africa, this would be simply known as Stichtite and Serpentine.
